So many adventures. So few times.

My life is pretty dull. I play with a toddler, watch a lot of Yo Gabba Gabba and experiment with the crock pot. I have no bed time and I find humor in Laffy Taffy jokes. Conan O'Brien is my anti-drug.

The Yellow Shoe

I haven't posted in a while. We are all aware of this - shame on me.
Okay, moving on.
Raise your hand if you HAVEN'T heard that pesky little website, Pinterest. Wait, you haven't? Let me know. I'll send you an invite. So recently I saw a tutorial to upcycle old shoes with Modge Podge and fabric, and now I'm going to share my results.

The old shoes were just that - some old shoes -  swirly white and orange and pink paisley flats from Old Navy. I've had them for years and they'd seen better days.

I had an old yellow tank top and some scraps of lace, and decided to go to town.

I took some black ribbon and rhinestones left over from another random craft project and decided to add it for some spice.

And the end result? The shoes were cute... so cute... but the Modge Podge dries semi-hard and the lace ended up being really scratchy.

I may try it again with the waterproof Modge Podge and fabric, but only cover the heel of some wedges or the toe of flats.

Shout out to the Coulee Hartline News & Standard - my beloved hometown newspaper. I only use the best newspapers for my craft project drop cloths.
